It was a cool but beautiful day when Nibbles arrived in our fair town of Melissa, Texas. We were a bit late getting to the post office, and when we got there, we found Nibbles patiently waiting on us.

The first thing he did upon arrival was meet our new real buddy Koko. She’s a long-haired Chihuahua that was given to us (more about Koko later). Koko loved Nibbles and Nibbles loved Koko.

We asked Nibbles if there was anything special she wanted to do while visiting us, and right away she let us know with a great deal of exuberance, that she wanted to go sight seeing. We warned her there wasn’t much to see in Melissa, but Nibbles insisted. So, we took her to see the Fire Station, and the local park. That about summed up the town sights; but Nibbles fell in love with the park, so that was lucky for us. Here she is sliding down the BIG slide:

And she absolutely loved climbing atop Big Foot the green dragon.

Then, she spotted the Basketball courts and threw a hissy fit because I wouldn’t play her a game of HORSE. So… the husband initiated a game of one on one and that appeased Nibbles.
Then, Nibbles spotted the cars and promptly hopped into one and away she went! We screamed and hollered for her to come back, “Come back Nibbles! Nibbles, come back!” on account she didn’t have a license and all, but she wouldn’t listen. She just stepped on the accelerator and faster she went!
We got tired of waiting for her to come back, so we gave up and decided to go on home and hoped Nibbles would be able to find her way back. A short while later, Tom (one of our three police officers) showed up on our driveway with errant Nibbles in tow:
He gave her a citation for driving without a license and gave us a severe scolding for allowing her to drive without a license. What ever!
And that was the end of Nibbles’ Adventure in Melissa Land. The End.

Hilarious! I love the police car pic.
Thanks! It took some doing to get that shot. And Tom was not about to be in it. It wold have been great if we could have shot Tom arresting Nibbles.
LOL Ok that makes 2 buddies now that have been either brought home by the police or spent time in the detaining room of jail! BAD BUDDIES
…uh you didn’t let it slip that this harmless bunny had just left a pile of oppossum yardkill at his last stop did you?
This bunny is on the lamb!
Road Kill?? OMG… we’ve been harboring a criminal!
yes you have!!! He killed an oppossum! Shot him dead!
hold the phone…did you say 1 of your 3 police officers??? HOLY CRAP how small is your town?
At last count we had a little over 1,200 people. Of course, the census includes Weston with Melissa, but Melissa alone only sports 1200.
Your town is not much bigger than mine and you only have 3 officers?! We have 7. lol.
And the picture of the husband is priceless. Is he the next Michael Jordan?
Actually, he was a big basketball star back in High School and in College. The first four years he went on a basketball scholarship.
Hilarious!!! I love the cop car shot too. It sounds like our town. We have two cars but probably a few more officers. Your poor husband. First he has to figure out what Philip owes you and now playing basketball with a stuffed bunny!! I wonder what the guys at the office would have to say about that.
ROFLMAO!!!
The husband is great when it comes to participating and helping out with the photo shoots. And if truth be told, he’s having as much fun as I am doing this buddy thing.
My husband and kids (grown) have really been enjoying this too. That’s cool I think.
This was great!!! Your husband is such a good sport!
I can’t wait to hear more about that adorable pupster, Koko!!! She is SSOOOOO cute!!!
Thanks! I’ve only had Koko for about 6 days, but I really love her. She is THE best dog!
How fun! Sounds like you and Nibbles had a blast in your little town. Koko is a little cutie!
Melissa, this is hilarious. Looks like you and Nibbles had an excellent time at the park! Oh, btw- I’m shipping off Miss Posey to you today (Wednesday 4/1) in the afternoon when I wake *I work nights and wasn’t able to ship her out this afternoon* – so keep a look out- have fun! And, did you get a new dog? She’s so cute! OMG, so tiny and sweet!
Hey, you! Good to see you. I’m sure Posey will get here soon enough. I just sent Nibbles on his way the other day, so I’ll have a few days to get ready for the next visitor.
Yes! Koko is a teeny tiny Long Haired Chihuahua that we more or less rescued. I’ll be talking about her soon. In the process of getting pictures now.
Bunny gone bad! Everywhere he goes he manages to get into trouble. Thanks for showing him such a good time. I’m going to really have to watch him once he gets home. When I was a kid my dad had a French Poodle he named KoKo Kasanova. Sort of a crazy dog. My Dad was the only one who really liked him. I lost track of Nibbles with the knee thing going on. He sure has done a lot of traveling. I wish I could have gone with him.
I keep sensing all these little hookups between the traveling buddies and the people they are visiting. Like Nibbles and Koko – I hope no hearts get broken during this project. LOL.
Really cute!!! Looks like a wild car ride ending up with the strong arm of the law. Your little dog looks like a real sweetheart how nice to have a new pup in the family. I enjoyed the Buddy Adventure.:+)
